How to play · 9 balls
Bank Pool
Every ball has to come off a rail. A game for players who see angles.
- Balls
- 9 balls, any numbers, plus the cue ball
- Rack
- Diamond, any order
- Goal
- First to bank 5 balls
- Scoring
- Only called, cleanly banked balls count
The break
Balls made on the break don't count and are spotted.
What counts as a bank
- Call the ball and the pocket.
- The object ball must hit at least one cushion before it drops.
- The shot must be clean: no kisses off other balls, no combinations, and the cue ball can't touch the rail before the object ball unless called.
Playing
- Any ball can be played at any time.
- A legal bank scores 1 and you keep shooting.
- Balls made the wrong way, or extra balls on a good shot, are spotted.
Fouls
- A foul costs one ball: spot one of the balls you've made, or owe one.
- Scratches, missing all balls and no cushion after contact are fouls.
Winning
The first player to bank 5 balls wins.
